work for the new term

Revised artist statement:
As a sculptor I find myself drawn to visually intriguing objects. I like to work with a mix of different naturally occurring materials items which have been shaped to fit a previous, often industrial, purpose.
My current work  fixates on the manipulation of natural materials by man to create useable resources and the way in which mother nature over time 'reclaims' the material often through an oxidising reaction which can be seen to return altered metals back to a more natural hue .I find the use of woods and metals side by side particularly alluring with the contrasts and similarities in properties being multiple. Another material I like to work with is copper , its earthing properties add another dimension to each piece providing a central link between works.
To date I have used metals, woods and living plants within my sculptures and wish to continue to explore similar materials , working on different manipulation processes and playing with a point of balance; through which expressing the metaphorical presence of a delicate equilibrium between man and nature that allows for a harmonious co-existence .

and plant cuttings.

Boxed in

( dimensions variable)

Created using found objects ; namely a wire basket and brown paper.
with copper wire and discarded wood clippings.

The entrapment of nature within a man made form

the insertion of a symbolic seed like formation created from copper wire
to fit in with the theme of the earth element and grounding .

Infinity +1

( aprox. 3ft x 1ft)

found object , plastic pipe with green wire

Infinity +1 :  representational of the excessive length of time  this discarded object will take to degrade.
Although in reality an average Plastic beverage bottle (the closest comparison to the plastic pipe I could find) takes approx 450-600 year's to degrade this is still an excessive amount of time for such an object that has been simply thrown away after a short period of use.

Multiples Of Three

( 4"x3")

( aprox.12"x12")

(aprox. 15"x12")

found object with silver and green wire.
